Parent FAQ

Questions families usually ask before they trust a practice tool.

These answers are written for real home use: shared devices, sign-in, parent review, AI boundaries, and what the app is actually doing with a child’s work.

Does my child need a Google sign-in to use the app?

The production product is designed around Google sign-in and family-linked access. Local development can run in a relaxed mode, but the real family workflow assumes authenticated access.

Can parents see what happened in a practice run?

Yes. The parent layer is designed to surface recent sessions, missed questions, pacing context, and optional explanation-sharing so adults can help without watching over the child’s shoulder in real time.

Is AI deciding my child’s score?

Not for the core structured item types, and the direction for open responses is the same. The scoring path is designed to stay deterministic where possible, using explicit rubric rules and review fallbacks instead of letting a model silently decide correctness.

Can the child see every parent explanation automatically?

No. Parent-generated detailed explanations are meant to be reviewed by the parent first. The parent chooses whether to share them back into the child results screen.

Does the app support picking up an unfinished session later?

Yes. The product stores in-progress session state so a child can continue a paused run rather than losing the whole attempt.

What if we want targeted follow-up after a weak run?

The app supports remediation-style follow-up that focuses on weaker domains instead of forcing the child to redo the entire same session from scratch.
